What we do!

Our Programs

Our programmes respond to the interconnected challenges girls face. We combine mentorship, education, skills, wellbeing, economic empowerment and community action to help girls move from potential to opportunity.

Go Girls Mentorship Programme

Go Girls is a girls' mentorship programme designed to strengthen adolescent girls' agency, confidence and leadership. The programme uses a girl-centred curriculum built around four areas: Self-Beliefs, Environmental Beliefs, Self-Governance and Leadership Beliefs. Through regular sessions, group activities, role modelling, drama, role play and community dialogue, girls develop practical skills for navigating their lives and making informed choices. Target: girls in primary school and other eligible adolescent girls in participating communities.

7

Sauti Ya Dada

Sauti Ya Dada means 'The Girls' Voice.' The programme creates a safe space for girls to build sisterhood, self-care, confidence, leadership and the ability to speak up on issues affecting their lives and education. The programme also incorporates environmental action, enabling girls to identify community challenges and develop practical responses. Girls have used creative approaches including art, drama, community engagement and school-based environmental activities.

2

Girl Power Social Enterprises

Our social enterprises create practical pathways for girls to apply their skills while contributing to the sustainability of the organisation.

  • Every Bite You Take Bakery
  • Girl Power Tailoring
  • Girl Power Shop
  • Girl Power Pad / reusable menstrual products
  • Other products developed through the Skills Centre
Where applicable, social enterprise participants are supported to gain practical production, marketing and business experience.

5

Girls & Environmental Action

We support girls to become environmental leaders through sustainable agriculture, environmental education, community action and girls-led initiatives. Activities may include kitchen gardening, vegetable growing, conservation awareness, composting and community campaigns.

8

Education & Scholarships

We support vulnerable girls to remain in school through scholarships, mentorship, menstrual health support and community engagement. Our education work recognises that school fees are only one part of the challenge. Girls also need encouragement, safe spaces, supportive adults and practical support to remain engaged in education.

3

Girls' Wellbeing & Community Engagement

Through music, dance, drama, sports and community dialogue, we create spaces to address issues affecting girls and young people, including mental wellbeing, violence, relationships, reproductive health and other community concerns. These activities help make difficult conversations accessible and encourage girls and communities to identify solutions together.
